Introduction
In the year of Jiawu in the years of Guangxu in the Qing dynasty (1894 A.D.), Lu Xun’s uncle Zhou Zhongxiang opened a small hotel at the exit of Duchangfang in the city of Shaoxing. The hotelier extracted “xian” and “heng” from the sentence “tolerance and generosity makes all things in the world prosperous” in “Tuan Zhuan” in “Book of Changes - Kun”, symbolizing the prosperous and booming business of the hotel. Mr. Lu Xun took Xianheng as the major background in his famous novels “Kong Yiji”, “Storms”, and “Tomorrow”, making Xianheng hotel well known at home and abroad.
Xianheng Hotel covers a building area of 57,000 square meters, with 206 deluxe rooms, including 111 standard rooms, 74 big bed executive rooms, 21 luxury suites and theme suits; it has more than 2,000 dinning seats including 47 luxury private rooms on the themes of Lu Xun culture, imperial culture, wine culture, opera culture, and the culture of sentiments, and 1 multi-purpose hall which can accommodate 800 people.
