Introduction
Kuaiji Mountain Scenic Area is famous for the lore of Yu the Great, also known as Da Yu. He was an ancient hero around the time of the dawn of Chinese civilization period, and was a legendary ruler of ancient China. The story "three times Da Yu passed the door of his house without going in" is passed down from generation to generation in China. Da Yu’s great achievements during his life’s journey and the four most significant incidents in his life all took place in Kuanji Mountain. The stories showing worship of the gods, his wedding with TuShan Shi (涂山氏), being appointment as the leader of his group and his death all took place in the Kuaiji Mountain area. The Da Yu Mausoleum lies at the foot of Kuaiji Mountain, southeast of Shaoxing City, and is the main place of worship of Da Yu in China.The Kuaiji Mountain scenic area has abundant flora and fauna, and the green coverage rate amounts to 88%. The scenic area was listed as a national AAAA level scenic area in 2005, and including scenic spots such as the Da Yu Mausoleum, Paradise of Birds and Lufeng Temple.
