In the Xiazhu Lake National Wetland Park clear lakes and rivers lie freely, wild flocks of birds perch leisurely and aquatic animals and plants spread over the entire park. The park still retains the natural and original water village landscape South of Yangtze River, with more than 600 islands scattered across the lake, more than 1000 channels crisscross it and more than 800 kinds of animals and plants live and multiply here, including Wild Soybean that is called the precious “panda” of plants and the Crested Ibis that is called the precious “panda” of birds.
Xiazhu Lake has distinctive seasons; for instance, all kinds of flowers bloom and all kinds of birds chirp in the spring, clouds hang in the midair and green lotus leaves cover rivers like big umbrellas in the summer, the reeds swing with the wind and the fragrance of osmanthus is carried on the autumn breeze, and the forests frost up to the banks and mist fills the sky in the winter. Because of its natural environment and original wetland landscape, Xiazhu Lake has been the paradise of birds, the palace of plants, the classroom of children, drawing more and more people here to share the beauty.
