Superb Campsites in Hangzhou
Camping is no doubt an indispensable composition of summer: listen to the chirping of cicadas and the croaking of frogs, raise your head to view stars shining in the sky and wake up in the most beautiful natural scenery, what could be more pleasant than that? Head to the following six superb campsites in Hangzhou to have such an experience.
Daqing Valley RV Campsite 大清谷房车营
The campsite is a haven of nature hidden in the downtown area. Daqing Valley is blessed with a superb natural environment with fresher than fresh air, surrounding mountains and little traffic.
The RVs in the campsite have two models, eight-meter ones and ten-meter ones. It's recommended that couples choose the eight-meter model while families the ten-meter model. Of course, you are also welcomed to pitch a tent.

Tent Valley 帐篷谷
Inside the place, seventeen tents scatter around at the foot of Gaoting Mountain. It has a mountain hiking route and tourist path all to itself, suitable for mountain hiking and cycling.
All tents are fully equipped and are comparable to a hotel standard room. Just outside tents, there is a several-thousand-meter lawn for you to enjoy BBQ, have a party or simply relax.

Luniao RVs Camping Park 鸬鸟房车露营公园
The camping park covers an area of over 500 mu (1 mu is roughly equal to 666 sq m) and is situated inside the most beautiful ecological town – Luniao Town in Yuhang District. It is also the first ecological RV campsite in downtown Hangzhou.
The park is abundant in all types of entertainments, including BBQ, campfire party, watching glowworms and gazing into the starry sky, an ideal place for a weekend getaway.

Xinsha Island 新沙岛
Xinsha Island is surrounded by water on four sides and is dominated by lush green trees. The island is home to the largest natural freshwater swimming area in East China, the BBQ Village which can accommodate over a thousand people at a time and the 300-meter-long sequoia avenue, the shooting location of a famous Chinese series "Three Stanzas of Plum-blossoms".
The poplar forest on Xinsha Island covers an area of about ten mu (1 mu is roughly equal to 666 sq m) and is an ideal place for camping. Here, you can gradually fall asleep while counting stars or listening to the sounds of waves.

There are two wharfs in Xinsha Island
A: Civil ferry Wharf: The wharf is under the First Bridge of Fuchun River, near the south gate of Fuyang Middle School. It is the only wharf that can ferry cars. It is free to take a ferry to Xinsha Island and cost 3 RMB per person or 30 RMB per car to return. The one-way trip takes about ten minutes.)
B: Lushan Tourist Boat Wharf: The wharf is on Jiangbin West Avenue, opposite Dongwu Park. The wharf is the boarding area of Fuchun Resort tour. It can only ferry people and is for tourism purposes. The one-way trip takes about 30 minutes.
Daming Mountain 大明山
Daming Mountain certainly makes a great summer retreat. The place features gurgling streams, high mountains and deep valleys. The camping experience can only be described as "perfect".
There are two great campsites in Daming Mountain, Thousand-mu meadow and lakeside of Daming Lake. There are tents for rent near Daming Lake. If you want something more primitive, you can head to Tianshu grassland (天书草坪) to pitch your tent.

Qingshan Lake 青山湖
Here, trees grow in water; boats are sailing through forests; birds are chirping on twigs; people are touring around in painting-like scenery. In Qingshan Lake, there is also a rarely-seen forest in water, which features dense trees and bamboos shrouded in clouds and mist.
Near the tourist boat wharf in Qingshan Lake, there is a large lawn available for camping, but you will have to bring your own camping equipment. If you choose to camp near the tourist boat wharf, you can then take a boat to tour around the forest in water and lovers' island.
